Highlights from Recent Projects
WORKSHOP 3D, LLC completed an augmented reality development project for the Quincy Valley Historical Society and Museum. The museum sought a high-tech solution to connect visitors with the experiences of local farmworkers. WORKSHOP 3D developed a mobile application featuring augmented reality, allowing users to access drone footage of seasonal crop growth. The project also included the creation of AR-enabled gift cards, which allowed users to access content remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic. The museum's investment in the project was $15,000 and the project has been ongoing since October 2018.
In a project for Grant County Public Utility District, WORKSHOP 3D, LLC developed an augmented reality mobile application to educate the public about hydropower generation and fish passage through dams. Users of the app can experience a virtual journey down the river and through hydroelectric turbines. The project began in August 2019 and cost the utility district around $12,000. WORKSHOP 3D continues to provide support for the app.
Experience Design, an agency that creates marketing, branding, and engagement programs, hired WORKSHOP 3D for various programming services centered on augmented reality design and app development. The goal was to increase awareness of a statewide credit union and create opportunities for staff to engage the public at events. WORKSHOP 3D developed an AR interface for the app that included a tiered questionnaire and a screenshot function that created photos of the user in their scene. The team also provided creative direction, art direction, and fabrication of the augmented reality display structure and targets.
