Unai Ltd

Unai Ltd was hired by SNOMED International, a not-for-profit organization that maintains the world’s most comprehensive clinical terminology, to validate the quality of SNOMED CT using AI techniques. The goal was to improve efficiency in identifying areas where content could be improved. Unai was selected due to their expertise in these technologies and their understanding of SNOMED's challenges. The project involved demonstrating a proof of concept for a machine-assisted Term Validation Service (TVS) that integrates with the current SNOMED International process. The tool was designed to highlight potentially erroneous Preferred Terms and return them for manual review. The project spanned three months, with regular meetings to demonstrate progress and a fully functional prototype tested and previewed by SNOMED International terminologists. A small, focused team from Unai, consisting of development, design, and management professionals, worked on this project.
