Highlights from Recent Projects
TheBhub collaborated with House of Major, a charity and communication consulting firm based in Nairobi, to tackle the challenge of limited access to employment information. The consulting firm sought a mobile-based solution due to the high proliferation of online mobile users in Kenya. TheBhub began the project by conducting research to understand the problem and devise an appropriate solution. They created a flowchart for the proposed scope of work, which included software development and a day-to-day schedule. The project, which started towards the end of January 2020, is expected to cost between $30,000-$40,000 upon completion. As of the end of May, the project was in the full testing and pilot phase.
In a separate project, TheBhub partnered with Sherehe, an event planning and management web platform, to develop a solution for a trust issue within the event planning industry. TheBhub built an event management platform that centralizes different needs in one place, allowing users to select vendors that best suit their needs. To ensure trust, a layer was added where users upload money into the platform's wallet, which vendors can only access once the job is done. The platform was designed with the guidance of the CEO of Sherehe to ensure it was appealing and set the right mood. The project, which began in July 2020, cost approximately $15,000 and is ongoing. TheBhub's SME Innovations program, which allows payment in installments, was highlighted as a key factor in the partnership.
