Highlights from Recent Projects
Techliance worked with the nonprofit organization, OurCalling, on creating a mobile application aimed at helping the homeless community. The app, designed for both iOS and Android devices, serves as a resource directory connecting users with the nearest homeless shelter, domestic violence center, or food pantry. It also includes a crowdsourcing feature that allows users to add resources. Started as a local resource, the app has since expanded into a national directory. The partnership began in January 2014, and the first version of the app was launched in July 2015. The project has cost nearly $30,000.
In a separate project, Techliance was engaged by a newspaper representative firm to develop its website. The team built the original site and several subsequent ones, maintaining and updating them over a period of ten years. The site allows newspapers to log in, see available ads, and update the run dates of chosen ads. The site then invoices their account through a built-in backend spreadsheet application. In addition, Techliance is creating a more user-focused website that will serve as a buying tool for advertisers and agencies. The relationship with this client began in September 2009 and continues to this day.
Techliance also developed a travel photo-sharing mobile app for PhotoVision, a company dedicated to preserving images and videos. The app, built in native code for Android and iOS, functions as a private photo-sharing platform for tour groups. It features a map component for safety purposes and allows users to upload documents like emergency contacts or trip itineraries. The company also creates videos from the uploaded photos, which can be purchased as a keepsake DVD. The partnership with PhotoVision began in 2012 and is ongoing, with costs ranging between $200,000 and $1 million.
