Tanooki Labs

Tanooki Labs was contracted by Reportable, a communications and business intelligence software company, to build and maintain their core software platform. The team at Tanooki Labs, consisting of 2-5 employees, not only built the entire software product but also added new features. Most recently, they developed a tool that automates the drafting of news releases based on custom prompts. This tool was integrated with an updated onboarding workflow, permissioning, and online distribution tool. The company's co-founder chose Tanooki Labs due to their great culture fit, aligned company values, and experience in the media sector.

For Target100, a health and wellness platform, Tanooki Labs developed native iOS, Android, and desktop applications. They started with a limited MVP and researched the best ways to build the platform. The design work was completed with Tanooki Labs using the spring methodology. They also helped develop proprietary technology and assisted with API integration in fitness trackers, scales, and water bottles. The project, which ran from June 2021 to April 2022, had a large team that included engineer support, a project manager, a product manager, a designer, and developers. The CTO of Target100 praised Tanooki Labs for their work and revealed that they had invested almost $600,000 in the project.

Heat Seek, a company that builds temperature sensors and a companion web app, hired Tanooki Labs to maintain their existing web app and design a new temperature sensor. Tanooki Labs' consulting model allowed Heat Seek to engage a team of advisors and developers instead of a single individual. The scope of work included migrating the existing rails application to Heroku, ongoing application monitoring, security update patches, on-call maintenance, issue resolution, ongoing feature work, and CTO advisement on third-party solutions and product selection. Over the past seven years, several feature sprints have been undertaken with Tanooki Labs, and three new versions of ambient air temperature sensors have been developed in addition to maintaining and improving the web application.
