Start State partnered with Food4Life, a non-profit organization that serves the homeless in Atlanta, to streamline their food delivery service. Food4Life was manually handling around 200 food orders daily, a process that took 4-5 hours. Start State developed an iOS and Android app and a web portal to automate the order collection and delivery process. The solution also included a dashboard to show weekly sales and deliveries, and a system for drivers to receive information sheets. The project, which ran from June to October 2020, used Firebase and other cloud platforms. Start State's team consisted of an app developer, a UX designer, and 2-3 other people, with one main point of contact for coordination. The engagement resulted in a significant reduction in delivery time and improved communication with drivers.
