Start Design was hired by Etisalat, a telecommunications company with a customer base of over 144 million subscribers across 15 countries, to redesign their stores. The goal of the project was to make Etisalat easier for customers and store teams to do business with. The project involved a detailed vendor selection process, with Start Design being selected due to their understanding of Etisalat's customers and company culture, their local presence, and their ability to balance function and form in their designs. The project resulted in the best high-value sales, product sales, and service levels within the UAE.
Oxfam GB, an international humanitarian and development charity, hired Start Design to design and build a large concept Charity Superstore. The goal was to create a retail theatre and local community space that promoted a circular economy model of reselling, reusing, and recycling. Start Design was chosen for the project because of their previous work with Oxfam and their experience with large format concepts for sports brands. Despite a planning delay, the store opened in September 2019. The project team consisted of a project manager and designers, with input from the founder as required.
