Highlights from Recent Projects
Sombra was engaged by Wifinity, a British internet provider, to provide front- and backend software development. The company didn’t have an in-house development team, so Sombra acted as an outsourced developer. They worked with custom Java developers and a Vue.js developer to develop and maintain Wifinity's captive portal and radius. They also handled user migration to the platform and consolidated two systems. The team from Sombra consisted of four Java developers and one frontend developer. The development began around January 2019, and the engagement is ongoing. Wifinity has invested around $1 million in this partnership with Sombra.
In another project, a telecommunications company hired Sombra to assist with WebUI development. The company, which provides both hardware and software for wireless communication devices, needed Angular developers. Sombra was selected for the job and assigned one employee to the project. The scope of work included continuous development and enhancements of the Element Management System (EMS), which features an Angular UI and multiple backend services and databases. Key deliverables included the last Docker version on Centos 7.9, the first K8s version on Ubuntu 20.04, and the first demo version with gNB capabilities targeting December 2023.
Ener-i.AI Inc, an energy software company, enlisted Sombra's services to support software development. The company, which specializes in grid modernization planning software and renewable energy siting software, found Sombra through a referral. They were impressed by Sombra's high ratings and good value for cost. Sombra assigned 6-10 employees to the project. The scope of work involved supporting product development with a development team. The development roadmap was managed and created by Ener-i.AI's corporate team of senior developers.
