Highlights from Recent Projects
SoftPositive was hired by Intelligence & Management of Information Inc. to develop a desktop application for a content-based search engine. The application was designed to integrate an optical character recognition (OCR) API for processing long PDF documents. The goal was to enable the application to process large volumes of lengthy documents within a short period of time. SoftPositive was successful in building an application capable of processing over 500 documents with each having between 100 to 300 pages.
In another project, SoftPositive was engaged by a custom software development company to provide software development services. The project involved building a logistics platform for a Fortune 100 company in the United States. The platform, which was developed using React, serves as a graphical interface for managing the location of resources. SoftPositive not only provided the software development services but also offered business analysis and client discoveries. The project started in February 2016 and was completed in July 2016.
For a marine transportation firm, SoftPositive developed a fleet management system to help the company schedule its fleet and coordinate with third parties. The project, which started in May 2016 and ended in January 2017, involved SoftPositive assisting the client's in-house development team. Microsoft MVC and Angular were used for the frontend while SQL Server was used for the backend. Microsoft Web API and Entity Framework were also integrated into the platform. The team managed to incorporate the client's color-coded spreadsheets into the user interface, which was considered the biggest challenge of the project.
