Highlights from Recent Projects
Softhis was engaged by The American College of Prosthodontics to develop an iOS and Android app version of their Board Study Guide. The guide, previously distributed on CD, helps members achieve board certification, a high-level credential in the dental profession. Softhis was tasked with transitioning the legacy product to an app format to cater to younger members. The company took the lead in defining technical requirements and dealing with the similarities and differences between the two operating systems. The project, costing around $12,000, was completed in October 2014. The apps are now live, and Softhis is planning to work on a new project to make the application available on Mac OS and Windows.
Softhis also worked with a non-profit dental association on multiple projects, including creating a symptoms checker that would work as a web-based platform and a mobile application. The company developed a web-based application using HTML5 and built native iOS and Android applications. All three applications use the same database and web services for ease of data update. The project, costing between $20,000 and $30,000, was completed in two to three months. Since then, the association has continued to use Softhis for updates and major redesigns of their apps, including a dentist training app.
