Highlights from Recent Projects
Shy Guys Studios was hired by the BBC to create an animated 3-minute explainer video to promote better awareness and understanding of the organisation's internal whistleblowing mechanisms. The Head of Whistleblowing of BBC found Shy Guys Studios through an online search and was impressed by the high quality of work featured on their website. The team of 2-5 employees developed a script, animation style, and storyboard for the video. They also identified and proposed appropriate voice over artists and music, arranged recording sessions, and designed the animation. Furthermore, they facilitated script translation into 24 different language subtitle files. The results were well-received.
The company was also hired by a forest conservation organization to develop an animated video that provided teachers with an overview of their educational offer. The Education Manager of the organization was impressed by Shy Guys Studios' experience in delivering similar projects to a high standard. The video was designed to be fun and engaging, with the aim of inspiring teachers to book a visit to the forest with their class. The process included a kick-off meeting, sharing information about branding, creating scripts and storyboards, and advising on voice over and background music. The team's approachability, adherence to timescales, and quick response to enquiries were highly appreciated.
In another project, Shy Guys Studios was engaged by the BBC to produce training content. The Director of the BBC had previously worked with the company and was impressed with their work. They had an initial call to outline goals and the type of end product desired. Several consultations were held to discuss the theme of the training content and develop the script. After multiple design iterations, they finalized the content and shared a list of voiceover candidates. They worked with the voiceover team to create the voices behind the animations. The project, which ran from October to December 2022, was completed successfully with an investment of about £30,000.
