Senstate Technologies was hired by a nonprofit organization to assist with a project involving an intelligent waste bin in a factory. The aim was to create a sensor network that could determine whether the bins were full or empty, allowing for more efficient waste collection. Senstate Technologies put various sensors in place to gather data, which was then processed via a cloud-based system facilitated by AI and machine learning. Not only did the system provide up-to-date information, but it also had the ability to make decisions and take low-level corrective measures. The team, consisting of two software engineers and the owner, developed the software and built some of the sensors themselves. The project started in December 2019 and is still ongoing, with about $10,000 invested so far.
