Rubikal

Rubikal was engaged by RunnerCity, a social gig cooperative, to build and launch a web app and mobile app for Apple and Android platforms. The project was initiated in response to the economic impact of the pandemic, with the aim of connecting customers with service providers on a peer-to-peer basis. Rubikal was selected based on a recommendation from a colleague and the project involved around 5-10 of their team members, including UI experts, front and back end developers, coders, and project managers. The project was successful, with the team effectively addressing UI issues, API integrations, and roll outs, and contributing valuable ideas for product improvement.

In another project, Rubikal partnered with Concentrical, an educational software development firm, to provide development support. The goal was to scale projects quickly while maintaining the same processes across offshore and staff augmentation teams. Rubikal's involvement spanned all stages of the projects, from ideation to deployment, and included both mobile and web apps. The technology stack was hosted on AWS, with Elixir and Ruby on Rails for backend development, React for frontend development, and Swift and Kotlin for native mobile app development. The Rubikal team, which included data engineers, developers, QA engineers, project managers, and engineering managers, was deeply integrated into Concentrical's teams. The engagement, which cost between $1 million and $5 million, lasted from around 2014 to June 2022.

Rubikal was also hired by iSchool, an online coding platform for kids, for UI/UX design and custom development. The project goals included seamless user experience, scalability and performance, and innovative feature integration. Rubikal was selected based on its high ratings, culture fit, value for cost, company values alignment, and technical expertise in EdTech. The scope of work involved ensuring an intuitive and user-friendly interface, handling increased traffic and additional data as the user base grew, integrating cutting-edge features like AI-driven personalized learning pathways and AR/VR learning experiences, and prioritizing data protection. The project involved 6-10 Rubikal employees and was successful in meeting the set objectives.
