Highlights from Recent Projects
Realm Digital was hired by Van Schaik Bookstore, a leading academic college bookstore chain in Southern Africa, to develop a scalable e-commerce website. The goal was to create a site with unique features tailored to the needs of students, parents of school children, and professionals. Realm Digital's experience in e-commerce and creative ingenuity were key factors in their selection. The project involved analyzing the customer base, designing the site, establishing secure payment methods, and creating interfaces between the e-commerce site and the in-house physical POS technology. The project was successful and Realm Digital continues to provide support on a retainer basis.
Realm Digital was engaged by Cape Town Child Welfare Society, a child protection agency, to help ensure compliance with The Children’s Act in South Africa. The agency needed to digitize their casework process and Realm Digital was hired to provide a roadmap for creating the necessary software. Despite limited funding, Realm Digital was able to develop a detailed project plan and even recommended another company that could build the software at a reduced price. The project was carried out between October 2020 and February 2021.
AI Spark, a company that leverages machine learning to optimize the prediction of bond performance and pricing, hired Realm Digital to build a web app to increase the accessibility of their technology. The project involved a discovery process, outlining deliverables and timelines, building backend and app servers, and designing the platform's frontend look and feel. The app allows users to view bond ratings, apply "stresses" to their portfolios, and make assumptions about future performance. The project, which ran from September 2022 to January 2023, was a success and involved a team of six people from Realm Digital.
