Highlights from Recent Projects
Realm Digital partnered with Cape Town Child Welfare Society, a child protection agency, to ensure compliance with The Children’s Act in South Africa. The agency lacked the funding to create software but needed a roadmap to standardize compliance. Realm Digital helped develop this roadmap by unpacking their workflows and providing a detailed project plan for another company to build the software. They also recommended another company that could create the software at a reduced price. The project took place from October 2020 to February 2021.
Realm Digital was hired by Van Schaik Bookstore, a retail chain of stores on university campuses throughout Southern Africa, to develop a scalable e-commerce website. The bookstore needed a partner that could create unique features to meet the needs of students, parents, and professionals. Realm Digital helped conceptualize the site, including design work, categorizing secure payment methods, establishing protocols for book product publisher feeds, and creating interfaces between the e-commerce website and the in-house developed physical POS technology. The company provided ongoing support on a retainer basis as needed.
AI Spark, a company that leverages machine learning to optimize the prediction of future bond performance and pricing, hired Realm Digital to build a web app that increases the accessibility of their technology. The original product was built into Microsoft Excel, which had limitations. Realm Digital conducted a discovery process, prepared an outline of the process, deliverables, and timelines, and then built the backend and app servers. They also worked on the platform’s frontend look and feel, ensuring that the data flowed perfectly through the interface. The product allows users to look at bond ratings and future performance based on machine learning. The project lasted from September 2022 to January 2023, with an investment of around $70,000–$80,000.
