Highlights from Recent Projects
QA Consultants was hired by Allcal, an event planning firm, to conduct quality assurance testing for a new feature of a web-based software. Allcal's internal team was too small to handle the QA process, so they outsourced the task to QA Consultants. After being provided with a URL link to the software, QA Consultants built test cases without the need for extensive documentation. The project was overseen by a team leader and executed by a specialist. Allcal has continued to utilize QA Consultants' services for larger-scale projects since their initial engagement in July 2016.
Shoppers Drug Mart, one of Canada's largest retailers, required QA Consultants' expertise for software testing automation. The initial engagement was to address resource structure issues and assist with automation testing. QA Consultants demonstrated innovative thinking and flexibility, working on various insurance domain projects. They introduced a "Test Factory" model, which allowed for easy communication and flexibility. The company also automated the broker portal and web services. Over three years, the project cost around $16 million, with 60 to 90 resources allocated. The collaboration has lasted over eight years, with QA Consultants taking the lead on the implementation of the Guidewire platform.
A national retail chain enlisted QA Consultants to provide manual and automated testing for various large projects. These included a complete rewrite of an AS/400 application, frontend website upgrades, backend system upgrades, and a big data project. QA Consultants also helped set up testing environments when necessary. The AS/400 database migration project had a $60 million budget and involved a large team of offshore and onshore resources. Another significant project involved refreshing the frontend UI layer and the backend of a content management system, costing $30 million. The engagement with QA Consultants began in 2010, with the team size peaking at 70 testers. However, the number has been reduced due to a strategic change in the retail chain's organization.
