Q-Insights was contracted by the XPRIZE Foundation to help recruit 12,000 adult learners in Los Angeles, Dallas, and Philadelphia who were reading at or below the equivalent of a third-grade level. The firm was responsible for the operational work of the educational program, which included canvassing and recruitment. Q-Insights set up mobile testing sites, helped participants download a learning app, and collected demographic and contact information. The firm was also tasked with tracking the transient population of learners throughout the year and ensuring they could be contacted for post-testing. Q-Insights accounted for 40% of the recruits for the study and was particularly successful in recruiting native English speakers, a group that was harder to recruit due to stigma associated with low literacy. The project, which started in January 2017, was successfully completed in December 2018. The feedback from the XPRIZE Foundation was overwhelmingly positive, stating that the project would not have been successful without the work of Q-Insights.
