Profusion Systems was hired by Aramark, a food services company, to develop web applications to bridge the gap between Aramark's management systems and the Chicago Public Schools (CPS). Prior to this, the company was conducting Excel processing which was not scalable for the 700 schools in the CPS system. The web applications developed by Profusion Systems included a substitute labor management application, a food ordering application, a menu distribution tool, and a recipes library among others. The projects were overseen by a project manager and involved an estimated three developers. The total investment for the project was between $500,000 and $1 million. The partnership began in 2014 and was still ongoing when the IT director left in March 2019.
