The project also encompassed supply chain sourcing and firmware development. The company chose Porticos, Inc. due to its high ratings, proximity, and affordable pricing. The team at Porticos, Inc., which consisted of 2-5 employees, successfully redesigned the existing pump control board after conducting a comprehensive design review. The upgrade included updated firmware and they also identified alternative vendors for supply chain sourcing.

Asensus Surgical, a surgical robotics company, hired Porticos, Inc. for firmware and mechanical development assistance along with design services. The project was initiated during the ideation and prototyping phases, with Porticos, Inc. collaborating closely with the Asensus Surgical team to develop various options for the components required. They provided electrical, mechanical, and firmware support, using tools like SOLIDWORKS, Altium, and Arduino. The engagement, which began in August 2022, is ongoing and has seen Porticos, Inc. take ownership of specific components in the process, working both independently and with the Asensus Surgical team.

A Telephony/VoIP Captioning Service Company engaged Porticos, Inc. to update their telephony product. The project involved the coordination of the design and testing of prototype PCBs and firmware. Despite being selected prior to the strategic program manager's arrival at the company, Porticos, Inc. proved to be a valuable partner. They coordinated with other vendors and the company on the schedule, design and development of prototype PCBs firmware, and various testing activities. They also provided support in working through various supply chain challenges, including redesign and alternative component selection and testing. A project manager/engineer and an electrical engineer from Porticos, Inc. were the primary points of contact for this project.
