Polisys

Polisys worked with Embrapa, a Brazilian agricultural innovation company, to develop a management system for Embrapa's research undertakings. The project was complex, requiring the system to cover all stages of a technological research project and transform Embrapa's business rules and workflow into a simple, user-friendly system. The system also had to be internet-based and accessible to Embrapa's 10,000 potential users across Brazil. Polisys was chosen after a competitive selection process, offering the best proposal at the best price. The project, valued at around $400,000, was completed and released to internal users in May 2011.

In a separate project, Polisys partnered with Megasoft, an IT service company, to rewrite their software in Java. The goal was to make Megasoft's software more efficient and competitive. The project involved approximately 1,200 cases of use with approximately 12,000 function points and consisted of four interdependent modules. Polisys was chosen based on their previous work and the confidence they inspired in their processes. The project, estimated at about 1.5 million dollars, is still in progress and is expected to be completed in October of 2016.
