Pipelabs was hired by a family-run menswear and accessories business to develop and maintain an e-commerce solution. As a long-established retail business with ten national stores and a significant wholesale arm, this was the company's first significant venture into e-commerce. The project required Pipelabs to integrate a Shopify front end with the company's ERP system and the systems of the global head office of Gant, for access to imagery and product details. This complex, innovative solution was not an off-the-shelf product and required Pipelabs to think creatively and adapt to ensure a seamless solution. The project was time-critical, with a four-month turnaround needed to launch in time for the busiest retail season - Black Friday and Christmas. The decision to hire Pipelabs was based on an existing relationship with one of its founders, Matt Hayward, who had previously assisted with smaller e-commerce website maintenance. The majority of the Pipelabs team worked on the project at various stages, with Matt Hayward acting as the main point of contact and liaison.
