The final deliverable was a clickable prototype, not a coded app. The founder of the startup was impressed by PhD Labs' presentation of ideas and the positive feedback from previous customers.

A fertilizer consulting company engaged PhD Labs to design a mobile app to support their business. The project, which lasted from October 2018 to January 2019, cost the company $35,000. PhD Labs used InVision to share about 40 to 50 mockups of the different screens that would be included in the app. The app design allows growers to have a digital version of their fertilizer plan and to record how well they stick to the plan. The company found PhD Labs to be the best fit among numerous companies they reviewed.

PhD Labs was hired by Tending, a social networking app for bartenders, to build their app from scratch. The app, which cost about $90,000, is currently being built for iOS. After its launch, PhD Labs will also build an Android version and take on the marketing. The app allows bartenders to connect with their regulars and take their clientele wherever they go. The founder of Tending found PhD Labs to be a complete cultural match and was impressed by their executive producer.
