NotionTheory collaborated with Watercooled Media to develop a social planning app for iOS and Android. After an unsuccessful partnership with a previous developer, the startup engaged NotionTheory to rebuild the app from scratch. The project, which had an initial budget of $12,000 for four weeks of development, expanded to include additional features. The app, which allows users to invite contacts to events via push notifications or text messages, was launched on the App Store in April 2015. The company's founders praised NotionTheory for providing detailed project scopes and for their flexibility in accommodating changes to the app's layout and features.

In another project, NotionTheory worked with a startup company specializing in mobile situation awareness tools for emergency services. The company lacked experience in mobile development, so they hired NotionTheory to develop a prototype application for Android and iOS. The application, developed on the PhoneGap platform, was aimed at a two-week field-test for Homeland security and was completed in June 2015. The total cost of the project was around $20,000-25,000. The app was launched on both operating systems in February 2016 and is currently in its beta phase.

NotionTheory also partnered with startup Orange Cone to develop a mobile app that allows citizens to report problems in public spaces. The company had been struggling with a nonperforming developer, so they turned to NotionTheory to build a mobile application for both iOS and Android. The application was integrated with Orange Cone's existing issue management software. The total development cost was between $25,000 and $35,000. The app is currently live in the app stores, and Orange Cone has expressed satisfaction with NotionTheory's work and is considering them for follow-up work.
