Highlights from Recent Projects
Next/Now was hired by a hazardous materials logistics firm to develop a proof-of-concept for an online 3D training experience for dangerous goods. The development team of 6-10 members successfully delivered the project in September 2019, having been engaged in February of the same year. The client selected Next/Now for their progressive approach to VR and their excellent industry credentials.
Under Armour, a renowned sports apparel brand, engaged Next/Now to develop interactive experiences using AR/VR, Google Cardboard, and 3D face mapping technology. Notable projects included a VR barricade to preview the look of a flagship store under construction in Boston, and a permanent installation with 3D face mapping. The collaboration, which began in 2016, continues as the client and Next/Now proceed into the PR execution stage, creating videos and other creative content for industry awards. To date, Under Armour has invested just under $150,000 in the partnership.
Next/Now partnered with a sports goods company to create an augmented reality retail display. The AR application incorporated 3D face-mapping technology, enabling customers to take photos with a famous athlete. The project, which began in June 2018, also involved Next/Now making ongoing adjustments to the AR environments and creating a promotional video for the client. The initial R&D and display production cost amounted to a little over $70,000, while the video production is estimated at around $5,000.
