Highlights from Recent Projects
Morlights was hired by a women-only fitness studio based in Chicago with the aim of creating a more welcoming and relaxing atmosphere than that found in traditional, masculine gyms. The client's main concern was to avoid harsh lighting, as most of their members were older women who had previously had bad experiences at gyms. Morlights' founder, Avraham, provided guidance and used AutoCAD to demonstrate the potential lighting design. The collaboration, which began in 2013, resulted in a total investment of $7,000 and is still ongoing, with plans for Morlights to assist in the lighting design for the studio's future location.
In another project, Morlights was contracted by the Museum of Science and Industry (MSI) in Chicago to set up gallery lighting and specialty lighting for their exhibition space. Morlights designed and drew up proposals for the lighting, and then assisted in procuring the necessary materials and equipment. The MSI project, which ran from November 2019 to December 2020, involved two to three team members from Morlights and cost a total of $30,000. The project duration was extended due to interruptions caused by COVID-19 restrictions.
