Metdroid Technologies

Metdroid Technologies was hired by a global digital marketing company to develop custom software for a manufacturing client. This project was aimed at providing visibility into equipment performance which the existing infrastructure failed to accomplish. Metdroid Technologies developed an Industrial IoT solution from scratch, which included custom sensor hardware, firmware, connectivity, a mobile/web application, and a cloud backend. This impressive solution was created in a 1-3 month sprint by a small senior team, rather than handed off to separate vendors, ensuring consistency in design decisions.

The scope of the project was comprehensive. It required mapping actual operational constraints including temperature extremes, electrical noise and network reliability. The team designed custom hardware for sensor nodes, developed embedded firmware for data acquisition and edge processing, and planned a resilient connectivity architecture. They also built a scalable cloud backend for data ingestion, storage and data processing at scale, developed the client-facing application for real-time monitoring, alerts, and historical reporting and ensured security throughout the device-to-cloud pipeline. End-to-end encryption and access controls secured the entire pipeline from device to dashboard.

The final deliverable was nothing short of a testament to Metdroid Technologies’ expertise. Their resulting software boasted custom-made IoT hardware, embedded firmware, a robust connectivity layer, and a versatile cloud platform. It offered a real-time dashboard for monitoring, historical trends, and customizable alerts, and crucially, it was secure. Metdroid ensured a secure handoff by preparing comprehensive documentation to allow the client to continue to maintain and improve upon the system independently.
