Materiell

Materiell was hired by Project Learning Tree, an environmental education initiative, to develop their new website on WordPress and consult on the UX of an existing design. They were chosen for their expertise in WCAG and their experience with education and nonprofit organizations. Materiell's team, consisting of a designer, developer, and project manager, audited the existing design for best practices in UX, technical efficiency, and WCAG 2.0. They used Figma to suggest improvements and developed key features such as a robust search for PLT's products and a product page that utilized modular tabs to organize content. The client appreciated Materiell's dedication to understanding their mission and providing the best user experience.

Modern Hiker, an outdoor website, engaged Materiell for technical support and a website redesign. Materiell initially offered a certain number of hours of technical support each month and a redesign of the front page. However, upon examining the website, they recommended a complete rebuild. Despite the project taking longer than expected due to complex issues, the client praised Materiell for their wonderful support throughout the process. The client worked directly with a project manager and developer, with occasional support from a tech lead and the founder and president of Materiell.

The San Francisco Education Fund hired Materiell to re-engineer their website in WordPress and make design and accessibility improvements. The previous website design/engineering firm had delivered a sub-par website with limited editing capabilities. Materiell was recommended by a volunteer who had helped with minor updates to the website. Materiell's team, which included a project manager, web designer, and engineer, provided a full project plan and timeline. They used InVision as a feedback tool and a staging site for approving final drafts of pages. The client was pleased with the newly engineered website launched by Materiell, which offered full edit functionality in WordPress.
