Kod Biro

Kod Biro was hired by Infodom, a company focused on business infrastructure and ICT solutions, to develop a mobile application called Nautical Information Service (nIS). The app, intended for yacht owners, fishermen, divers, swimmers, and other sea-goers, was designed to help users provide detailed information to local harbormaster’s offices and other services for navigation safety, marine pollution prevention, and search and rescue services. Kod Biro was selected for the project based on a recommendation from the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing. The goal was to create a user-friendly and reliable app, with an aim to acquire over 10,000 users in the first two years.

The nIS application was developed as a free multilingual tool for smartphones. It enables users to automatically report their location via a short text message, significantly reducing the time needed to find users in danger. The app includes features such as a maritime violation report, weather forecast for mariners, navigation rules, public services contacts, and information about ports and anchorages. The app was developed for both iOS and Android platforms. The team working on the project consisted of a project manager, a designer, an android developer, an iOS developer, and a tester.

The result of the project was a successful development of the nIS application. The app has significantly increased safety and prevention of accidents at sea, fulfilling the primary goal set by Infodom. It has been well-received by its users, and the number of users has been growing steadily, showing promising progress towards reaching the initial target of 10,000 users in the first two years. The project was completed successfully, demonstrating Kod Biro's expertise in app development.
