Highlights from Recent Projects
Kod Biro was hired by Infodom, a company specializing in business infrastructure and ICT solutions, to develop a mobile application named Nautical Information Service (nIS). The application, intended for use by yacht owners, fishermen, divers, swimmers, and others who spend time at sea, was designed to provide detailed information to local harbormaster’s offices and other services for navigation safety, prevention of marine pollution, and search and rescue services. The goal of the project was to create a user-friendly, reliable application for search and rescue purposes, with the expectation of acquiring over 10,000 users within the first two years.
The selection of Kod Biro as the vendor for the project was influenced by a recommendation from the University of Zagreb's Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing. The nIS application was developed to provide users with all necessary information for their safety at sea and enables users to make distress calls while automatically reporting their location via a short text message, reducing the time needed to find users in danger. The application, developed for both iOS and Android platforms, includes features such as a maritime violation report, weather forecast for mariners, navigation rules, and contacts for public services.
The team composed of a project manager, a designer focused on customer experience and screen ergonomics, an android developer, an iOS developer, and a tester. The application has successfully increased safety and prevention of accidents at sea, meeting the project's initial objectives.
