JQ Design Labs was hired by Black Public Media, a company that supports the development and distribution of media stories about the global Black experience, to create a dynamic new website. The goal was to increase their online following and site engagement and to optimize the site to support their institutional goals. JQ Design Labs was chosen due to their budget-friendly pricing, cultural fit, and value for cost. The team, comprised of 2-5 employees, began by understanding the company's needs and the issues with the old site. They then prepared a wireframe for the new site, fine-tuned it, began building the site, and trained the BPM content management team on how to use it. The new site was launched approximately six months after the process began and JQ Design Labs has since served as the website's thought partner and maintenance provider.
