Inertia Product Development was hired by Just Vertical, an indoor garden firm, for their expertise in Industrial Design, Workflow Analysis, Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), Mechanical Engineering, Prototyping, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain Management. The goal was to design and manufacture the company's first in-home hydroponic grow garden, the AEVA. During the process, it was decided to simultaneously develop a smaller version known as EVE due to efficiency considerations. Inertia's team, comprised of about 10 people, conducted a range of concept designs leading to a prototype, redesigned both the interior and exterior of the product for scalability and manufacturability, managed the tooling build, and confirmed the quality requirements were met. The first product was in the market by the fourth quarter of 2021, and the company is now working on increasing volume and mass production.
