The CEO of Nitrous, who was responsible for the company's overall strategy, financing, hiring, and high-level managers, as well as developing overall marketing and sales strategies, personally knew the co-founders of Hippo Thinks and had heard positive feedback about their work from mutual friends at other companies. The goal of the project was to provide a high-level understanding of the technical infrastructure required for software development, a look at the state of the industry, and an overview of the benefits of Nitrous's solution, supported by case studies. The project involved four members from Hippo Thinks: a project lead, researcher, writer, and editor. They had several high-level strategy calls with the project leads at Nitrous, where they were given an overview of the technology, target customers, and the goals for developing content for the business.
