Highlights from Recent Projects
Hipo was hired by Fieldguide, an image recognition technology firm, to develop a multi-platform app that identifies objects from user-inputted images. The project involved the end-to-end development of mobile apps for Android and iOS, as well as the backend and API infrastructure for the web app. The core technology has been launched and the second version of the Android and iOS apps have been released. The project is ongoing, with Hipo assisting in the scaling up of infrastructure and the launch of satellite apps for specific subjects.
Tyndale House Publishers engaged Hipo to develop an iOS/Android app that could interact with print Bibles to enhance the reader experience. Hipo developed a native app for iOS and Android that could adapt to mobile and tablet displays, ensuring a consistent user interface across all platforms. The app, which uses a visual capture function to recognize the reader's location in a book and retrieve related content, has been completed and released in a light version, with the full version expected to be launched in October 2018.
Avocare, a virtual care company, hired Hipo to develop a mobile and web application. Hipo started with a UX design and strategy phase, creating wireframes and user flows. The main feature of the app is a messaging interface that enables patients to connect with physicians. This required the app to comply with the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) in Canada, which Hipo successfully achieved. Other features of the app include the ability for users to schedule appointments, request prescription refills, and for physicians to charge for their services. Hipo also developed an AI-driven chatbot that can automate appointment bookings. The project lasted from January to June 2017.
