Grupdev

Grupdev was hired by an online publishing company to assist with a significant amount of DevOps work, including large migrations from bare metal to AWS. The company was experiencing difficulties completing other high-priority projects due to the workload. The decision to hire Grupdev was based on a recommendation from the company's DevOps Manager. Grupdev was integrated into the sprint process of the online publishing company, and their main responsibilities included leading the upgrade of the application server stack. They created multiple new environments using terraform, which facilitated the migration from a Java 8 and Tomcat 7 stack to a Java 11 and Tomcat 9 stack.

In addition to the server stack upgrade, Grupdev also undertook a significant DNS migration for one of the online publishing company's important clients. This involved moving the DNS hosting provider from the client's own service to being managed by the online publishing company within AWS. Grupdev also handled general small DevOps tasks such as Certificate Updates and Server restarts, which allowed the team to focus on larger business priorities. The team from Grupdev consisted of between three and four individuals, two of whom held significant roles in the project. The integration of Grupdev into the company's sprint process and standups was essential for keeping all engineers up to date.
