Geeks Chicago worked with a fantasy, science fiction, entertainment, media, and news website to create a comic section for an upcoming artist and to continuously improve the website. This included back and frontend development, mobile design, and server updates. They added features such as a bar that allows users to go through comics without leaving the page. They also redesigned the entire UI to utilize space more effectively, changed the cover images and quiz section, and altered font sizes and the width of article text. The team suggested the use of the Amazon Web Server, which they set up along with Amazon ElastiCache. The website now works fluidly, even with increased traffic.
The company also worked with a not-for-profit organization providing scholarships to build a new website from scratch with a strong foundation of tools and strategies. Geeks Chicago created a customized WordPress site, recommended templates, and set up site maintenance. They also coached the organization through a total rebranding of their site, updating the interface and explaining how the improvements could help inform and educate donors and users. They are currently incorporating video and other features into the site while teaching the team more about WordPress.
In another project, Geeks Chicago worked with a real estate brokerage company to create a new website. The website had two main functions: catering to the general public looking for properties to rent, and serving as a platform for agents to run their businesses. The website was designed to be highly functional, allowing users to easily search for properties and agents to share properties with customers and post them on various websites. The team also created a custom API to map each apartment in reference to certain school districts. Geeks Chicago is retained for ongoing improvements to the site.
