Future Platforms collaborated with Virgin Active UK to develop a mobile app that would transform the company from a traditional fitness operator to a digital fitness operator. The project began in February 2021 and is ongoing, with further investment anticipated in the coming years.
For First Group Holdings Limited, a UK and US-based transport company, Future Platforms developed mobile apps for their bus and rail companies. The apps, designed for iOS and Android, retail bus and train tickets and help customers plan their trips. The apps integrate data from various suppliers and technologies to provide information about bus stops, railway stations, and vehicle locations. The partnership began in October 2018 and continues to date, with the company investing $1.2 million per year in the project.
Future Platforms worked with a professional football league to develop two mobile apps. The first app, designed for fans, included branding for all the clubs in the league and various functionalities. The second app, designed for fans with disabilities, aimed to receive an AbilityNet accreditation, a hallmark for fully accessible apps. The apps were developed for iOS and Android, based on Future Platforms' recommendation. The project, which began in 2014, is ongoing, with the fan app completed and the app for fans with disabilities still in progress. The total cost of the project so far is around £250,000.
