Furtive Collective was engaged by the Los Angeles Patients & Caregivers Group, a medical marijuana dispensary, to guide them through advertising and business positioning strategies ahead of the legalization of recreational use of cannabis. The project involved staff training, conducting a retail intelligence program, and developing a marketing and social media strategy. Furtive Collective trained the staff to guide customers towards appropriate cannabis products without giving medical advice, visited competing dispensaries to identify their strengths and weaknesses, and developed methods to attract consumers from competitors. They also revamped the company’s presence on Instagram and Facebook to cater to different populations on each platform. The project was conducted from April to June 2017.
In another project, Furtive Collective was engaged by an online boutique store selling handmade candles to provide high-level business strategy. The challenge was to decide whether the company should continue selling clothing and accessories along with candles or focus only on candles. Furtive Collective provided guidance and tips on how to move forward as a candle-only company. They analyzed the company's Google analytics and provided strategies on how to use social media and identify the target market better. The engagement took place between March and May 2016.
