Friends & Family

Friends & Family undertook a custom software development project for a photo subscription company. The company required a software partner to help them transition from a service that prints mobile photos to releasing more physical products. Friends & Family developed software for both iOS and Android, and also created two secondary apps that offer print-on-demand services. The software included functions to manage multiple sign-ins and allow customers to add photos from different devices. The relationship with Friends & Family was so successful that the client took on a product management role and expanded the team. The client invested around $300,000 in this ongoing partnership, which began in July 2013.

In another project, Friends & Family developed an iOS app for In Good Co, a social and utility mobile platform startup. The client required a minimum viable product (MVP) and Friends & Family reworked basic wireframes to design and develop the app from scratch. The app was launched in beta after an investment of approximately $35,000. The client praised Friends & Family for their understanding and value of their startup status. The engagement started in February 2017 and the app went live in October the same year.

Friends & Family also worked with a large national coffee brand to redesign their outdated e-commerce site. They developed a concept to improve customer interaction, allowing users to type dynamic text and filter through coffee and tea product options. Friends & Family provided the UX design and used Node.js for a portion of the development work. The client invested around $100,000 in the project, which ran from August to October 2016. The client felt that Friends & Family were well-equipped to help them and were satisfied with the modern, user-friendly design of the updated site.
