The client was having issues clearing shipments and processing goods into their facilities, which was impacting their productivity. Flexport offered a solution to this by representing the company in customs brokerage, offering customs clearance into the country, and providing forwarding services which included inbound shipment management. The team at Flexport also took care of the importer security filing, which is a requirement for companies to comply with when sending products to the US. The client initially sent an RFP to five vendors, but Flexport won the contract with 100% exclusivity due to their evident advantage in the field. The contract started in January 2021 and since then, the engagement has been ongoing with the client investing between $250,000 and $500,000. Customs fees represented about 1% of their sales. The client is currently in the process of rolling out a third company with Flexport.
