Emproto Technologies successfully completed a project for an e-commerce business that is a specialty retail chain providing fresh meat and seafood. The client wanted to expand their retail stores to an online platform and required a custom solution for this transition. Emproto was tasked with developing this platform, which included a mobile-responsive site and native Android and iOS apps. One of the unique challenges addressed was the customization of the backend to accommodate selling by weight instead of by units, which is common in most e-commerce platforms. Despite a temporary halt due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the engagement resulted in a basic website structure and e-commerce functionalities as of September 2020.
