Empower HR

Empower HR was engaged by an acquisition company in need of comprehensive HR services. The firm's president and CFO had been managing HR tasks due to a lack of in-house HR department and inadequate support from their previous professional employee organization (PEO). Empower HR stepped in to provide full staff support, accessible service, and an on-site HR manager as required. They also improved the client's payroll service to better accommodate their mix of hourly and salaried personnel, interns, and apprentices.

The scope of Empower HR's involvement included risk management, compliance, administration, payroll, and employee benefits services. Acting as the client's HR department, they built and managed a portfolio of healthcare affiliates and worked closely with the CFO on payroll. They provided a benefits administrator who helped reduce costs by evaluating employee benefits, improving investments, and the 401K program. Empower HR also dedicated an HR staff member to the client, accessible via email or the company portal.

In addition, Empower HR expanded the agreement to include a recruitment service, Werkberry, which handled job descriptions, candidate sourcing and screening, and interview scheduling. They also trained the client's internal leadership team on conducting interviews and employee training. They updated and created policy manuals, maintained the employee handbook, onboarded new employees, and supported grant applications. The client worked with an account manager, an HR specialist, and a benefits administrator from Empower HR. The engagement, which began in June 2021, is ongoing, with the client expressing satisfaction with the services received.
