Highlights from Recent Projects
Electric Citizen worked with the City of Bloomington, MN, to create a Drupal 7 content-managed website in 2014, replacing their outdated Dreamweaver-edited site. In 2021, they helped the city redesign and update their website to move from Drupal 7 to Drupal 9. The project involved detailed review, planning, designing, building, validating, launching, monitoring, and tweaking of the site. The new Drupal 9 site incorporated design and functionality customizations to benefit both the internal web team and external stakeholders. The site was launched on time and was well-received by the public and coworkers.
The Center for Inclusive Child Care hired Electric Citizen to redevelop their outdated website. The project involved migrating all data and information to a new, user-friendly Drupal 8 site. The new site features a vast online resource library for parents and providers, which is now searchable by keywords or topics. The project ran from June 2017 to February 2018, with a total investment of around $85,000. The new website has been well-received by users for its intuitive and user-friendly features.
Electric Citizen was contracted by the local government of the city of Santa Barbara to design and develop a new website. The old and outdated website was replaced with a new citizen-centric model website, built from scratch on a Drupal open-source platform. The new site allows citizens to access services without knowing which department they come from. Electric Citizen migrated over 2,500 pages manually and moved approximately 20,000 PDFs programmatically from the old site to the new one. The project, which started in June 2021, has an ongoing engagement with Electric Citizen for annual maintenance and additional enhancements. The total investment in the project is around $315,000.
