Highlights from Recent Projects
Dialog One was contracted by ACDA of Minnesota, a music education nonprofit, to translate scholarship application forms into Spanish, Somali, and Hmong. The goal was to attract diverse communities to their honor choir program. The project, led by Frank (Business Development Manager) and Roberto (Founder & CEO), involved translating a single-page application form of about 300–400 words. The project, which cost about $540, was completed in mid-August, following an initial inquiry in mid-July.
In another project, Dialog One provided translation and interpretation services for a local school district with a significant number of English learners and recently arrived refugees. The district needed help with interpretation, particularly in connecting with families during home visits. Dialog One, led by Roberto (Founder & CEO), provided an interpretation tool similar to a FaceTime App, allowing teachers to easily get an interpreter. The company also provided word for word translations and cultural nuances. The ongoing partnership, which began in September 2016, sees the school district spend at least $100,000 per year on Dialog One's services.
Dialog One also provided on-demand translation and interpretation services for a Pre-K through fifth-grade elementary school. The school, with many families speaking different languages, needed support in translation and interpretation, especially in a virtual environment due to the pandemic. Dialog One, led by Roberto (Founder & CEO), provided video interpreters and an on-demand service for any situation. The engagement, which started in October 2018, cost the school between $5,000 and $10,000.
