Design Center, Inc.

Design Center, Inc. was engaged by a sneaker retail store to develop an inventory system. The goal was to create a system that could manage trade-ins, list them on the website automatically, and also handle accounting tasks. Design Center took over the project from another shop and built a roadmap of user stories, determining the necessary features and acceptance criteria. Using React and JavaScript, they developed 30-40 user stories. The first phase of the project was successfully completed with a team of 6-7 people, including a UX designer, project manager, and developers. The project, which started in January 2021, is ongoing and the client has invested $45,000 so far.

In another project, Design Center was tasked by a community bank to develop a person-to-person payment app for iOS and Android. The project involved collaboration on the color scheme, design, and layout of the app and also included extensive testing for bugs and other technical issues. The team, consisting of 8-10 people, also created a proof-of-concept and redesigned the interface. The project ran from April 2013 to June 2018, with the client investing over $250,000.

Design Center was also hired by a construction company to develop a calculator app that could determine the quantities of required liquid coatings for each step of coating systems installation. The app was designed to be user-friendly and useful for in-field installers. The project involved four Design Center team members and four members of the client's team, along with a user group consisting of a dealer and three managers. The app also included reference information related to solvents use, concrete patch systems, and chip blends.
