COVBEC LLP was engaged by SECZAP to assess the security of a mobile application. They were called to identify vulnerabilities across Android/iOS components, data storage, network communication, and more, with the aim to provide actionable solutions for improvement. With their selection being influenced by close geographic propinquity and budget-friendly pricing amongst others, two to five members of COVBEC LLP were assigned to call the shots on this project.
The scope of the project included executing comprehensive mobile application security testing. This encompassed examining application binaries, insecure data storage, network communication, and API security along with other checks. In addition, they were supposed to validate identified vulnerabilities, assess their business impact and provide prioritized remediation recommendations backed by a detailed technical report.
Upon completion, COVBEC LLP made a significant impact by identifying and validating potential vulnerabilities in the mobile application, which were detailed in a comprehensive report. The efforts of the dedicated team members reflected positively on the overall security posture of the app. The prioritized remediation steps provided, ensured that the application was aligned with best security practices, and thanks to which the security of client's mobile application was noticeably improved.
