Cookielab.io was hired by Innovation Lab a.s., a company that delivers smart corporate catering services, to develop a solution for automatic recognition of food items in a smart fridge and to integrate existing technologies in a new way. The project involved designing the entire technical infrastructure for the smart fridge, connecting various IoT components, overcoming RFID signal challenges, and implementing UHF RFID antennas for accurate and reliable detection. They were also tasked with building a user-facing mobile app, creating backend systems for tracking inventory, user access, and transactions, and integrating with HR systems for payroll deductions and supply systems for restocking alerts. Cookielab.io successfully developed a working prototype of the EAT SMART smart fridge with RFID-based automatic food recognition, a fully functional mobile application for users and administrators, and backend infrastructure for real-time data processing and system management. The system was successfully tested and optimized for full-scale rollout, and a pilot deployment at HOPI Holding campus was successfully conducted. The project was a success and the client was satisfied with the results.
