Codifive was chosen by the Medical University of Warsaw to develop a natural language processing tool for anonymized electronic health records. This tool, named the "AssistMed" project, facilitates structured data retrieval for research purposes and is specifically designed for the cardiology field. The tool was developed using advanced text processing techniques, and can automatically analyse three types of textual data commonly found in Poland's discharge summaries: a descriptive list of medical diagnoses, discharge recommendations, and echocardiography reports. The project was undertaken by 2-5 Codifive employees, and was selected for its favorable pricing and positive referral. The tool has successfully improved the availability of medical documentation for research purposes, whilst also reducing the time and cost associated with manual chart reviews.
