Code-pal

Code-pal was hired by the founder of Cambridge College, an online language teaching school, to develop a language learning platform. The platform was designed to allow users to watch YouTube videos with subtitles, translate them dynamically using AI, and add new words to a dictionary. Users can also generate tests using words from their dictionary and access their learning history. Code-pal was chosen for this project due to their high ratings, proximity, cost-effectiveness, and a referral. Two team members from Code-pal were assigned to this project.

The team at Code-pal successfully delivered a custom language learning platform that integrated YouTube videos with interactive, clickable subtitles. The platform allows users to pause the video, view the translation of any word in the subtitles, and save the word to their private dictionary. Users can then generate personalized quizzes from their saved words to practice vocabulary. Key deliverables included a responsive web platform with YouTube video integration, clickable subtitle functionality with real-time word lookup, a private user dictionary feature, a quiz generator, user authentication and dashboard, an admin panel for content and user management, and full testing and deployment. The client was highly satisfied with the results and the value for cost provided by Code-pal.
