Cobalt Design was hired by Vesticam Pty Ltd, a medical equipment manufacturer, to design infrared video goggles for clinical use. The goggles were to be utilized by clinicians for vestibular tests to assist in the diagnosis and management of dizziness, vertigo, and balance problems. The design needed to be user-friendly for clinicians, easy to manufacture, aesthetically pleasing, and comfortable for patients to wear. Cobalt Design was chosen for their competitive pricing, cultural fit, and shared company values. A team of 2-5 employees was assigned to the project. The key deliverables included light-tight goggles that are easy to adjust, comfortable to wear, secured on the patient's face, and easy to assemble. The design components were not to be glued or screwed together. The project was successful and met the client's specifications.
