Chicago Software Solutions (CSS) worked with CMS Pro, a software for contractors, to develop a mobile application that would link to their existing desktop platform. The owner of CMS Pro needed a simple way for field contractors to send notes, documents, and images back to the office. CSS built the app to deliver key functions including the ability to convert a photo of a document into a PDF and the ability to compress photos for upload. The project, which cost about $20,000, was completed between June 2016 and May 2017.

CSS partnered with a principal electrical engineer at a research laboratory to develop open-source software modules for vehicle grid integration, smart charging, and smart energy management. The first project involved creating an Open Charge Point Protocol node, with subsequent projects including an OpenADR node and upgrades to OCPP 1.6. The partnership, which began in February 2017, has cost between $120,000 and $150,000 and is ongoing.

For Plummer’s Waste Group, a waste hauling company, CSS developed an Android app and a web-based platform to streamline their workflow. The custom development included a dispatch portion, a mobile application for technicians, a credit card processing portion, and various reporting options. CSS also worked on a large project for the company's grease trap service division. The project, which began in September 2016, has cost over $100,000 and is ongoing.
