Chicago Software Solutions (CSS) worked with an energy research firm to develop open-source software packages that facilitate vehicle grid integration, smart charging, and smart energy management. CSS was tasked to create an Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP) node and other modules to perform specific tasks. The client, a principal electrical engineer at a laboratory, sought the assistance of CSS to maximize their output. The client was satisfied with CSS's work, mentioning that the developer working on the project was "very confident and a really good developer." In total, the client invested $120,000 - $150,000 in the project which began in February 2017 and is ongoing.

CSS partnered with Plummer’s Waste Group, a waste hauling company, to streamline their workflow which spanned across four different programs. They created an Android app and a web-based platform that consolidated the company's operations from receiving a service call to dispatching information to their technicians. CSS also built a custom API with Intuit for credit card processing which resolved issues the company previously had with their system. The client praised CSS for their professionalism and the convenience brought about by their software solution. The project started in September 2016 and is ongoing, with the client investing at least $100,000.

For a software contractor company, CSS developed a cross-platform mobile app that linked to the company's existing desktop platform. The app, which was designed to enable field contractors to send notes, documents, and images back to the office, was built to deliver key functions including the ability to convert a photo of a document into a PDF and the ability to compress photos for upload. The owner of the company was pleased with CSS's work, spending about $20,000 for the project which ran from June 2016 to May 2017.
