CaseWhen Consulting GmbH was hired by Schindler Deutschland AG & Co. KG, a leading provider of services for elevators, escalators, and moving walks, to enhance their data management and business intelligence. The goal was to create an efficient, automated multi-department reporting system using Power BI and Azure Data Factory. CaseWhen was chosen for their cost-effectiveness, good cultural fit, and geographical proximity. The team from CaseWhen, consisting of 2-5 employees, set up a production Azure environment, implemented standardized data flows and pipelines, and introduced automated data validation and transformations. They also established a complete CI/CD process for Azure Data Factory, including automated deployments and Git-based versioning. The project included migrating critical reporting workflows from legacy systems to Azure and establishing consistent data models, naming conventions, and transformation logics. The team worked closely with the BI team from Schindler, imparting knowledge on Power BI and Azure Data Factory. The project was successful, with Schindler's teams becoming self-sufficient in Power BI and Azure Data Factory, ensuring data consistency and reliability across departments. The project also reduced dependency on legacy systems by migrating critical reporting workflows to Azure.
