Capellic LLC was hired by Easterseals, a national nonprofit providing essential services to various vulnerable groups, to develop a comprehensive digital experience for their national and affiliate website ecosystem. Easterseals specifically sought out Capellic for their high ratings, excellent cultural fit, good value for cost, and shared company values. With a team of 6-10 employees, Capellic embarked on a multi-phased digital transformation project. It began with the analysis of the state of Easterseals enterprise systems and user experience, followed by strategic goal definition and technical requirements definition.
A key part of Capellic's work was the evaluation and selection of a new content management system (CMS). This involved defining CMS requirements, including integrations, creating an evaluation rubric, and assessing several CMSes against this rubric. Further steps included the definition of information architecture, development of a site map and taxonomy for Easterseals national office and its affiliates, and the finalization of website visual identity systems such as typography, color palette, and graphic treatments.
The project culminated with the launch of the national and first affiliate site. This final phase involved writing technical specifications, back-end building, design system implementation, training on content-editing in the new CMS, and developing a migration strategy for over 30 affiliate site rollouts. With this extensive digital transformation, Capellic accomplished a significant uplift in Easterseals' digital accessibility, thereby attaining the goals set at the project's outset.
